The Daily Instagram Checklist

Growing your Instagram can be a long process if you don't know what you're doing. This daily checklist will help you narrow down your goals and help you get more focused on how to reach them!

Here's how to use the Daily Instagram Checklist

My Instagram goal for this month is:

If you want to focus on getting more followers: See how many followers you have for this month, then add in the appropriate number that you think you would be able to achieve. For example, I have 700 followers and I want 900 followers by the end of this month. So, I would be 900 followers. Your goal is up to you if you don’t want to focus on followers but If you want to focus on getting more sales: My instagram goal this month is to get 10 sales from Instagram. Or maybe you want to focus on getting more collaborations: such as getting 2 guest post bloggers from instagram or getting 4 shoutouts.

The best time to post is:

This is where you’ll do a bit more digging. Sign up for iconosquare.com and then sign up for their 7 free trials. By signing up, you’ll be able to track your activity, your optimization, engagement, and community insights. Make sure to print out the best times to post so that even when your trial is over you have something to base it off of.

Here’s an example of what it looks like.

I actually don’t use Iconosquare and based it on my own experimentation – I post at 1 PM because people are on lunch, and then again at 10 PM (it used to be 9 PM) but since the time change, I switched it to 10 PM. My reasoning is that people are laying in bed and scrolling through Instagram.

Hashtags I’ll monitor:

One of my favorite parts and fun as well! This is directly from my paid course and isn’t mentioned in my FREE COURSE AT ALL. Basically, choosing hashtags that speak to your ideal audience is super important. I recommend going to 3 instagram accounts that are in your niche and seeing what hashtags they are using. From there, I compile all of them and filter out the ones that I don’t think my target audience would use.

Then, I’ll go through each of the hashtags and how many people are using the hashtags, and what the competition is, if there are too many people using the hashtags (an example would be #fashion #beauty) which has over 1 million photos, then I stay away. If they have around 50,000-100,000 then that is just the perfect amount. If it has around 5,000 hashtags I would say too few people are using it and it is very niched down but to reach a wider audience I would stick with hashtags that have more than 10,000+.

Also, take a look at the photos, are they photos that you connect with? I would skim around and look through the hashtag to see what type of people are posting it - are they your competitors? Are they actual people who would buy your product? Hashtag research is difficult to do, but it pays off!

I’ll reach my goal by doing this…..

This is entirely up to you and what you feel you can do on a daily basis, a weekly basis, and a monthly basis. Mine would look something like this:

Everyday: Follow 3 accounts in my niche, comment on at least 5 instagram posts.

Every Week: Spend Sunday taking photos to schedule out for the rest of the week, Plan out my feed for the next week.

Every month: Look through crowdfire to see who followed me and who unfollowed, clean up my followers, plan out next month’s content.

Crowdfire is an app that people use to see who follows them and also who doesn’t follow them, so if you find yourself following 1000 people while only 300 people are following you, you can clean up your feed by unfollowing people who aren’t following you.

Remember, you can change any of the numbers out, maybe by every month you want to put, “will have followed at least 20 people in my niche. Will reach out to 3 bloggers to collaborate on a project.”
